Lincolnshire Fostering Service launch their first Foster Carers Conference

The conference provided foster carers with the opportunity to connect with one another, share experiences and build supportive relationships, while taking part in three dedicated workshops. Covering topics including foster carer wellbeing and supporting young people to develop the skills they need for independence, the sessions were designed to strengthen and celebrate the vital role foster carers play in the lives of Lincolnshire’s most vulnerable children and young people.

Alongside the workshops and networking opportunities, the conference also included a presentation recognising foster carers who had reached significant fostering milestones, celebrating the dedication and commitment shown by Lincolnshire's fostering community.

Councillor Maria Humes, Councillor Brenda Collier and Councillor Natalie Oliver attended the event to show their support and express their gratitude to Lincolnshire’s fostering community. Speaking at the conference, Councillor Oliver shared a heartfelt message of thanks:

“I’d like to thank you for all you do for our children in care. It’s impossible to overstate the extraordinary contribution you all make to the lives of some of our most vulnerable children. By offering them a loving and stable environment, you make a life-changing difference, often at the most difficult time of their lives

You are an inspiration, and I’m so honoured that I get to be a part of your community”

The conference also featured a raffle, giving foster carers the chance to win a range of fantastic prizes donated by local businesses across the county. Lincolnshire Fostering Service would like to extend a sincere thank you to the below organisations whose generous donations made the raffle possible. Their support helped make the event even more special and demonstrated the strength of the community backing Lincolnshire’s foster carers.
